Berlusconi on Pep, Balotelli and City

What about this scenario. Pep to run the academy, as we all know that he liked working with youth at Barca and this part of our club is going to become huge until, such a time that Roberto wishes to go back to Italy or wherever when his five year contract has expired. I can’t see our club going without some kind of trophy now that would put Roberto in a position to warrant an early bath, as we have our feet well and truly under the table thanks to our very understanding owners.
Just a thought to mull over?

Whilst initially this seems exciting (to me), I'm not sure there's that much in this story, even disregarding it's dodgy source.

It's obvious that we are assumed to be in pole position for Guardiola, given the appointment of the Barca duo. He doesn't appear to be saying much more than that.

Backwards move. Mancini has a good, solid grip of the English game now. People say that with the stars Brazil have had over the years, anyone could manage them. Same goes for Barca. Guardiola had at his disposal some of the best players in the world, and thee best. Managing a club in a country he knows nothing about in terms of the football will be a completely different ball game.

Would be gutted for Mancini if that happened, and would get ready for a settling in period for Guardiola whilst he adjusts to the league, and of course the city in his homelife, which would no doubt have a knock on effect on his ability in the job in the first place.

Massive gamble if true.
Much less of a gamble than Jose to Chelsea was and that worked out ok.

If people think our owners and new ex-Barca execs have not spoken to Pep about the possibility of becoming manager here then they are very naive.

People saying 'what if he wins the league' or the cup or the double etc then what? Well, then you take would be an even harder decision about whether to make the change or not.

But what you don't do, is think everything in the garden is rosy, not speak to anyone, not put any contingency plans in place, wait until we win naff all, fire Bobby then look around and think 'right, who's available for us to get now' only to realise Pep has already agreed to manage Bayern and Jose is already back at Chelsea.

There could be any number of factors behind this none of us will realise or maybe ever know.

Maybe the owners were p1ssed when Bobby spoke to all those other clubs....and then admitted it. Maybe he wants to go back to Italy after this season regardless of what happens. We just don't know.

What I will say is, for sure we don't know if Pep will succeed anywhere outside of Barca, but he is without doubt world reknowned and admired (up til now at least).....and that includes many of the best players in the world, including THE best.
He is also respected massively by media, journos, fellow managers etc. He respects the club he is working for, avoids controversy, tries to play quick, exciting football and seems a jolly nice chap to boot.

We cannot afford to 'wait' and see if he achieves elsewhere, cos if it's at Chelsea or the Scum, then he sure as hell will never come here!

Don't get me wrong, I will always love Bobby for what he has achieved, but there are many things I believe could be improved on - one of the biggest for me is his demeanour on the sidelines towards the players. Never seems any appreciation of anything good - just grief for the bad things, then blamnking anyone who comes off.

Pep for me, would be the best fit all round.

This Berlusconi cnut wants both Balotelli and Mancini...
I was thinking that about mancini not sure about balotelli though. Think it would be a move favored by all parties if it came to it. Mancini gets a big club, citys owners get the man they are looking for and director of football and ceo get somebody to work with that they are familiar with and is young enough that they can build the academy round his footballing ideas

A post I agree with in many ways. Everyone knows my admiration for Mourinho but it doesn't change the fact that a betting man would always back Pep for our job.

Berlusconi calling Mario a bad apple, that's a fucking joke.

I know he chats a lot of shit, so who knows if he just shit-stirring.

It's just Silvio's way of flirting. ;)

I also like the idea of Mourinho coming here in many ways.

Which is why I think we should be fairly relaxed about the whole situation.

If Mancini is still here next season, then great, as I would think that means we will have won the Premier League again (and maybe the cup too).

If not, then he is hardly going to be replaced by someone sh1t is he?!? In charge will be either Pep or Jose - both of whom I believe to be upgrades which will see us move onto bigger and better things.

It's a Win-Win.
