Bernardo Silva: “Something has to change. You learn who you can go to war with, first of all"

The scary thing is that side yesterday was about as attacking as it gets with this squad and yet we still didn’t score.
Whilst I'd agree about the names on the team sheet being "attacking", there's glaring errors with it for me. Doku, Savinho, and Marmoush all in at the same time. Doku does the same trick every time, Savinho should be getting the odd game at the moment, and Marmoush doesn't know what he's supposed to be doing. Add to that Haaland finding every possible wrong move to make, and KdB trying every wonder ball through a packed defence.

Sometimes more can be simply too much, and it ends up a muddle, like yesterday, that actually generated very few good chances.

We even had attacking full backs getting involved, I thought O'Reilly did OK but got in the way, and Akanji did OK, but when he crossed the ball, he did it like a CB.

Yeah I didn’t like the line up to be honest when I saw it.

Bernardo is known as the teachers pet if you go by other city players when asked.

So for him to come out and say something like this speaks volumes of what’s happening behind closed doors. Major sign was our captain leaving mid season.

I think Peps lost half the dressing room. I think it’s split right down the middle. Players that still want to play for Pep and then Players that can’t be arsed and want a change.

I honestly think Peps mismanagement of the playing squad this season has caused massive unrest. Constantly picking the same players over that disaster October - December period. Bringing in 4 new players in January something we’ve never done before and only one of them gets consistent game time. Bringing in the kids to then say he regrets not doing it sooner. Grealish barely starts a game then gets picked for Real Madrid in a champions league knock out game. Rico Lewis scores a crucial goal in the semi final then can’t even make the squad for the final. I could go on and on it’s fucking baffling. If it’s mega confusing for the fans every week not knowing what team we’re gonna see then no doubt it’s having the same affect on the players.

I just don’t know who exactly would be the trouble makers in the squad. Maybe some differences of opinion but I just don’t see a repeat of the Scouse v France cliques we had in the 2000s. Surely if there were problem players we would look at who hasn’t been playing but really Grealish? Gonzalez? Khusanov?

I’m at a loss.

I do wonder if Pep is playing Kev full time to prove a point though.
Grealish ,Walker and stones to a lesser extent would by my first picks. Remember we had a few injuries at the start of the season and pep was outing players without naming them. Say something thing like there’s players here saying they’re injured and won’t play and there’s others who will play on.

Walker wanted that 100cap for England and pep said it in an interview. Grealish was injured weeks but still went to the England camp just to be sent home

Stones injured weeks couldn’t play one game a week. Goes to England plays 90min makes himself available for the 2nd game a few days later starts comes off injured after a couple of minutes then missing for city again

Yeah what's he ever done whilst here ?

Talk about bullshit posts, but that post is up there with the best (worst).
It's not bullshit though is it , Bernado is talking specifically about this season and so is the poster, this Season Bernado has been wank

Think these are the sorts of comments that Pep has been making publicly just framed a different way.

December: “We are lucky with the players we have, for example, like Bernardo [Silva]. I know he’s a special player for me, but how he puts his heart into those positions. He is an incredible winner and example for us in how he behaves in different positions and always tries to help and read what happens in certain positions. Playing attacking midfield, holding midfield, always defensively he makes an incredible effort. Rico [Lewis], what can I say? The guy can play right back, left back if we need more control.”

May: "Bernardo is so intuitive, so competitive. I think Josko (Gvardiol) has been the most important player that we had this season – without Josko it will be impossible to sustain. These are reliable to play every three days during 11 months in the good and bad moments.

“Josko has been top. And Bernardo, I’ve said many times, with a few other players in the bad moments of the season, always he has been there and been there and been there. And I don’t forget that. It’s easy when everybody is fit, when everything is fine.

“But when you are reliable, being available to play every three days, and fighting and suffering and next day game another one and try it again and try it again and try it again in the bad moments. That means a lot to me.”

Do you know if he was fit ?

This thread contains so many embarrasing posts, not even related to the subjecy of a quote from an interview nobody has actually posted.

Clearly a selection decision nothing to do with his fitness. Hence why I say he’s decision making this season is baffling
