Bernardo Silva: “Something has to change. You learn who you can go to war with, first of all"

He continues making baffling line ups. Let's start there. Let's not actually:)

he knows what's going on far better than anyone us aeotd - we just got to ride this unpleasant season out of the way and get some new players in to the jump on Peps wagon again

We controlled the last 2 games & if the ref had done his job we’d have won by 6. I’ve been critical of Doku & Savio at times but they created plenty of chances. Haaland is off the boil, KDB needs a few seconds longer which stops the chance. Hopefully a chance goes in off the arse & we get a win tomorrow & get this season over.

Amen to the last 4 words!

I could be wrong, but I took the comment by @Prestwich_Blue as Bernie runs non stop, but the " towards the enemy's trenches" bit was about him rarely advancing toward goal. Not about being cowardly or anything.

It was no doubt a poor analogy, and whilst I'm not here to defend Colin, I don't think he meant in the manner it in came across. Of course, he's a measured and seasoned poster, so he probably should have known better.

If I have got that spectacularly wrong, and folk find my take on it wrong, then I sincerely apologise.

Well Bernardo, this season you are one of the last players I would go to war with too. You are not alone of course but people in glass houses and all that.
Jesus wept. The team is malfunctioning. We've got wingers who either aren't ready yet or never will be, we've got a centre forward who talks every few weeks about not being good enough this season but doesn't do anything about it, our talisman who is clearly over the hill, last season's player of the year who for whatever reason has fallen off a cliff, a full back and captain who decided halfway through the season that the fight wasn't for him and went off into a mid-table Italian club, a goalkeeper who seemingly can't be arsed anymore, a record signing that is more arsed about tipping ale down his throat than staying fit and fighting for his place, and yet an absolute work horse who has carried on regardless whilst Rome burns around him is the last player you'd go to war with?

I feel for Jack. He comes across as hungry and motivated. Isn't getting a chance out at all but when he does come on, i've not seen any huff, and i've seen him contribute more than Foden. Both in individual games and over the season.

But it is clear Both have pissed Pep right off.

This the same Jack that on his days off rather be away from his first new born and Mrs and go on the piss in some dodgy NE social club?

Just look at the state of his face, he is bloated and looks 1/2 asleep, the guy has taken the piss for too long, his career with us was a great 6 months in the treble season, before and since then he has been a terrible signing.

I think he looks terrible both on and off the field. He has put on weight and plays as if he doesn't want to be there. He's not the only one sadly.
Played well whenever given a rare outing - then dropped.

Any fool can see you play Jack to gain control, frustrate, annoy and soften up the defence......then, when they're flagging, you bring Doku on.

I have always supported Grealish. But I don't think he has played that well this season in any games. He has had good spells for 30 minutes here and there. Nothing like he produced in 2022/23. His lifestyle is an issue and I base that belief on personal knowledge not just the media reports.

Dropped or injured because he doesn’t look after himself properly.

Serious question - I don’t think Jack looks bloated. I actually think he looks very fit. What do you really think the problem is?

Makes me chuckle how many people on this forum think that if you defend Guardiola you're a happy clapper. Other than that, as you will know, in any disagreement between a player and a manager the manager always wins. That's football.

Even if it's Haaland and Guardiola has one more season?

The dressing room is obviously not a happy place. Impossible to win trophies if so and doesn’t bode well for last 2 matches.

I think Bernardo's comments are a reason as to why Pep keeps playing the older guys, because I think Bernardo aint calling out the old guard who have battled with him for last 9 years. It's the newer guys.

Peps trust of the older guard resembles Bernardos comments of possibly aiming the blame at the young and inexperienced players for not being up for the fight.

if there are problems good on him for calling it, what we have to understand is to be as good as we were all 11 players have to put a shift in and if someone or more isnt its causing ballance problems in our play which reflects on the players who are putting in a shift, this has been going on for sometime and he's kept quite, most likely had enough and this is the last straw

What do I think the problem is with Grealish? He's an unprofessional dickhead. Basically gave up after winning the treble and is now just enjoying his life as if he's on some 24/7 lads holiday. And he's is massively bloated mate. He looks about a decade older than he did two years ago.
Lol

I'm sure we can dream up a few scenarios where it won't work, but in the main if we're talking about Pep/City, I would imagine Khaldoon would back Pep over any player in the squad. Including Haaland. Whilst it might be lost on a few people, Khaldoon and the owners have Pep to thank for making City a global footballing superpower over the last 8 years. There's no Haaland without Pep etc.
