Bernardo Silva - 2017/18 performances

"Peak Nasri" gets nowhere near a Pep team, which is why Pep fucked him off as soon as he arrived.
Most of the reporting was that Nasri chose to leave against Guardiola's judgement. Marti Perenau has stated in an interview that Guardiola was disappointed that Nasri left and wanted to work with him

That Pep is routinely picking him more and more tells me everything I need to know.

Not been in maybe his ideal spot out wide right. But perhaps analogous to the Big Silva often being used of necessity in wider spaces for so many years under Mancini and Pellars. Not as good as he could be more centrally but class enough to be useful anyway.

Offers a different dynamic out wide as opposed to the other choices. Probably a value to that on some tactical level also.

Pep quote during pre season:

"I saw him in these three games and his spirit in the training sessions. Still I'm waiting for a bad performance from him. He's a guy who has unbelievable ability to keep the ball in small spaces. The ball is safe. He has his own special quality."

Clearly rates the player highly. As I said, at his peak would've been brilliant in a Pep team. Massively underrated by the majority of City fans.

Talking shit with great certainty doesn't alter the fact that what you're saying is shit.

Can you please outline which bit of what I said is "shit"?

To help you, here's the quote:

It contains two premises in there. Address them one by one and you've won the argument.

It's amazing he should say that just after he had told him that he needed to find another club, isn't it? One could even be cynical about it if you were that way inclined.

When was that?

Pep couldn't guarantee him as much first team football as he wanted, so he left.

Don't remember him complimenting the 'unbelievable' technical qualities of other players when we sold him in the same way though?

Also, as previously noted, Nasri was past his peak when Pep arrived. So it's irrelevant either way, as said.

Nasri was great for us when he wanted to be, and he was a huge part of our title season. Peak Nasri would have thrived in a Pep team.

As for B. Silva, he is looking better and better each game. I think he knows Dave only has a year or two left in him, and we will see Bernardo phased in centrally more and more as time progresses. I also still think he is a very similar player. He is good in tight space, he rarely loses the ball and he can always find a pass. He is massively out of his comfort zone on the wings but hes still making it work. He looks a lot more promising than Gundogan IMO, although I would love to see them both come good.

I thought Pep was very clear that he didn't tell Nasri to leave, Nasri left because he wanted to play every week after spending a year on the sidelines with injury.

I have a rule not to argue with people like you.

Agree largely with this.

Technically he's faultless and as he gets more attuned to the PL his influence on games will grow and grow. A worthy heir to Spanish Dave and looks an absolute steal at what we paid for him

Bernardo Silva has played more games for us (34) this season than anyone else in the team.

I have to be honest and say I'm a bit disappointed in him at the moment. I expected a lot more, when he signed I was sure he was going to be David's heir and I even pushed Sterling and Sane to the bench for him.
I saw countless of his games in Monaco last year, he is a great player, hoping for an improvement in the second half of the season because he seems at the moment insecure
