Bernardo Silva - 2017/18 performances

Last game I thought Spain were too good or the POR manager didnt know how to use Bernardo so he didn't shine, but this game against morroco he was simply quite bad. Misplaced a simple cross field pass badly where the ball was metres away from his intended target without any opposition pressure. Strange. I would have thought he would be shining in the WC. Didn't really have a tough season since he was on the bench most of the time.

Take your point about tough season but he did make more appearances than any other player in the squad albeit only 28 starts.

Had a disappointing season and looks like his WC is following suit

Maybe the same one Pep saw, hence the lack of starts.

Listen, he's a beautiful player technically and one with years to improve but at this stage he isn't very progressive in his play and loses the ball too often for the type of player he is.

Nope. He didn't start games during the first half of the season but he did after he'd settled in. Even your namesake took time in his first season.

He got more starts because of his slight improvement but also because Sane got injured. He made a glut of his starts in Feb

I'm hopeful he will be better next season & beyond, as I said his technique is flawless plus he's obviously a brilliant person, he's young enough to become world class. Seems some on here think he already is
 
He had a really good game for Portugal tonight, even though they lost. When given a more free central role, he was roaming across the pitch making great passes for Portugal but they couldn't get a shot on target.

He is fine on the wings and drifting in (but really predictable and too slow), but probably better being inside and drifting outside. I can see him in David's role even if Pep hasn't put him there yet, I'd prefer some more pace on our wings.

He was playing at the tip of a diamond in midfield in the second half, very close to his false 9 role for us tactically which I'm a big fan of against parked buses. Agree he was very impressive.
