Read on the BBC before that someone offered £126m for him at the end of last season! He didn’t want to go and we didn’t want to sell. Great decision. Great season.

Yes saw that. Incredible considering he was still settling in last year. What price now? Great to hear he loves it at city. My player of the season.

I'm pretty skeptical of that. Not because he's not worth it, but because there's only 3 clubs in Europe who can afford that. Barcelona had just spent 150m on Coutinho and still thought he'd be great, PSG were so close to breaking FFP that they were scraping around to get Eric Choupo-Moting on a free from Stoke, and Real Madrid lost Zidane because they wouldn't spend big to rebuild.

Imagine him and fully fit KDB. The Scousers had their best chance with our best player missing most of the season and they blew it. It won't ever be close again after this imo.
It will be close no matter what. Not do much coz we wouldn't be better, but simply because we can't help others pick up points against them.

I mean we had to win 14 straight to fend them off. That tells you the Spurs, Arsenal, United, and Chelsea's aren't doing enough against either one of us at present.

I'm sure they thought us having games against Spurs, United, and Leicester was a tough run in. It turns out we both just crushed the opposition anyway.

2 months ago, I was certain 95 points will win the league. As it turns out it took 14 straight to win. If someone bhad told me the winner would need 98 points to win 2 months ago, my conclusions would have been, well I guess we are not winning it then. As 98 points would have meant we weren't allowed to drop a point in the last 14. That's just not realistic.

Speaks volumes that we were able to do it. But given the exact same scenario 10 times, I'll bet against it every time and likely win more than half the time.

You're also forgetting that it's not realistic for Liverpool to reach 97 points again.

That's the whole point, because it was unrealistic for both of us, I believe the fight wlbe close next year no matter how much either one of us improve.

Whether the fight is close will depend on how much better everyone else gets. And not much on how much better either one of us gets.

But we had a precedent last year where we got even more points. And almost went for a repeat with no KDB and no Mendy. Surely the odds of us having 95+ points is much higher than Liverpool, even more so with the addition of VAR next season.
