Had a great feeling about him from the moment he arrived. No histrionics with the deal, he wanted to play for Pep and the club and signed. He has immersed into the area and at the money we paid is a steal. All that, and the fact he is a really talented footballer and a top bloke is just icing.

Cant remember what we paid but he must be worth X 3 now.

Love him...but not on the right. More than a few times today breaks broke down because he can’t sprint past the back line. Much happier when he’s paired more centrally with kdb and has someone like sterling running off his right. I think it’s a stability/balance thing for pep...but in fine margin matches we trade some essential lethality on the counter with him on the right - and sometimes we really need the goals.
 
My only slight criticism - and it is very slight as he is a tremendous payer in tremendous form - is for him to slow down a tad when in possession. It’s like he has the same energy with the ball as when pressing, with no off button. Sometimes space is created by slowing down and letting the opposition create it for you. David is the master of this.
