No he wont be

Nor is he better than Bernardo Silva there and never will be.
Saw a bit of Bernardo in alverez the other night, brilliant balance, press and touch; he won’t be the conventional striker we’ve all seen early doors and may be developed in other areas like Pep loves to do, that being said he’ll undoubtedly score more!

If ever there was an obvious demonstration of corruption in European Football rules, it must lie in Barcelona. OK I know Pep is a Catalonian and a fan, but how can Barcelona be selling off rights to finance purchase of new players when they are around a billion Euros in debt? Same goes for the Rags. It is a bad and corrupt system when most of the negative publicity is focused on us.

They're perfectly entitled to make bad business decisions. Let them get on with it.

Why shouldn’t they sell off rights to pay off debt. I have no idea if it’s a long term sound financial plan. The point is though they had the huge debt from previous administrations dragging them down, they had to do something. Don’t have any problem with it, only they know if going forward they have finances under some sort of control.

It’s a bit like Bury or Derby or <insert struggling/bankrupt team here> selling their stadium off.

It helps in the immediate short term, but could cause the club to fold unless expenses are reined in.

You know I was talking about Grealish right?

Yes they have to reign in expenses so the debt doesn’t build again, no Messi Pique type wages will help. That’s up to Laporta, but ‘remortgaging’ to pay of crippling debt probably had to be done.

They‘re not doing that though, are they?

They've consolidated their debt as much as they can. They are now selling future profits off on top of that.

That's his point though, they are Not selling off rights to pay off debts, but to make big player signings now. Effectively doing what the last lot did, spending outwith their means on star players above their income.

Which, is perfectly fine for most businesses to dig their own hole, but in the context of FFP, it kinda spits in the face of the spirit of the whole thing.
