Bernardo Silva

It’s gotta be a swap plus cash adjustment for De Jong, or is that too simplistic?

Clearly you should pay more attention then.

He’s a brilliant player with loads of scope to improve in a good team, and Guardiola has been quoted numerous times over the past few years describing him as exceptional. The rumours were that we would like to bid for him this summer but wouldn’t be able to afford both him and Haaland in the same transfer window. That changes if Bernado were to leave.

He’s also four-plus years younger than Bernado, is English, knows the league already and can genuinely play at centre half as well, which would be very desirable given the injury problems which surround our players. He’s an expensive player because he’s very good, but he could play in our team for the next ten years.
Welcome to the club mate, I'd be amazed if we're not in for this lad.

Paqueta is available if we want him as a replacement. Lyon want to hold him for another season but if he wants to leave they will let him go for a decent price. I don't know where this idea has come from that teams won't sell their players this Late in the window. In Europe bundesliga, serie a, la liga and ligue un. Players have moved legit on the last week of the transfer window to other teams in multiple different seasons its normal. Even players that were vital. Have left. These selling teams in Europe have incredible scouting so it's not hard to get a replacement for crucial out going players.

He has a totally different role to Bernardo. Absolute nonsense post. Any discussions of Rice ended the moment we signed Phillips.
He plays a different role at West Ham at the moment to the one Bernado plays for us, but Rice is probably the most mobile midfielder in the League and can easily play further forward.

What he does or doesn't do for West Ham shouldn’t determine what he can or can’t do for a team like ours.

It would be incredibly foolish and demonstrate poor business/football sense to not replace Bernardo if he goes. The squad doesn't have the depth at all and injuries would leave us massively exposed.
Going to be too late now, Barca will bid with a few days left of the window

Personally very disappointed that we are at this stage of the season with the uncertainty and possibility of losing Berardo to those cunts at Barca.

I understand the principle we adopt regarding players who no longer want to stay, but surely such transfers should be dealt with in a way which suits City and not just the player.

Setting a fee which we determine is appropriate is important obviously, but the timing of the tranasctions allowing the proper time for bringing in suitable replacement should also be an important element of the transaction.

Personally I hope that Bernado stays this season in order to allow us to properly plan for the seaon ahead and prepare for his potential transfer next season

It's clear he is going, and we have to accept it. Barca already activated the 4th lever, so they have the money (even if they are not going to make that great of an offer) and they have inscribed almost every player they have signed. Nothing we can do, and we should focus on signing someone. We'll be fine and as strong as ever.
I worry that he will go for under £60 million which would be scandalous as I just can’t see the fee being what we think it will be .
