Bernardo Silva

I worry that he will go for under £60 million which would be scandalous as I just can’t see the fee being what we think it will be .
So do I.

Pep and the board love him and want to do right by him so I do fear it will be a pretty significant discounted price. Hope I'm wrong.

Welcome to the club mate, I'd be amazed if we're not in for this lad.
He’d be great for us, and I’d be disappointed if we didn’t try for him should Bernado leave.

The irony with all these people saying that Rice can only play defensive midfielder is that he’d be replacing Bernado. The same Bernado who has been transformed in his time here and now plays a completely different role to the one he was playing when we bought him.

Clearly you should pay more attention then.

He’s a brilliant player with loads of scope to improve in a good team, and Guardiola has been quoted numerous times over the past few years describing him as exceptional. The rumours were that we would like to bid for him this summer but wouldn’t be able to afford both him and Haaland in the same transfer window. That changes if Bernado were to leave.

He’s also four-plus years younger than Bernado, is English, knows the league already and can genuinely play at centre half as well, which would be very desirable given the injury problems which surround our players. He’s an expensive player because he’s very good, but he could play in our team for the next ten years.
So you really think Rice is a replacement for Bernardo?

He’s not similar to Bernardo as a player
He’s more of a Rodri or Phillips midfielder anyway

As I’ve outlined above, I think Rice is a different player to Bernado but I think he could be very good alongside Rodri and De Bruyne. He’s got loads of scope to improve and evolve his game, but in the short term he would replace Bernardo’s work rate and legs in midfield.

Would obviously be expensive but that’s all the more reason to set a high price on Bernado. It’s difficult to think of a like for like replacement, so I think we’d have to go down a different route.
