It's hard for us fans to understand. Bernardo says he's happy at City, & we can't see why any player wouldn't want to play for City.yeah it could even start in january to be honest mate. No excuses to not be prepared though if he has told us he wants out next summer?
However, we're emotional fans, but Bernardo is essentially a committed employee, with little more than a professional approach to his job & an appreciation that the club & fans love him.
We don't get why a 28 year old can't sit tight for another 4-5 years & then live out the rest of his life in the sun as a wealthy & medal laden man. Bernardo wants a big club in the sun, & to sample another project. If that's what he wants, it's what he wants.
Personally if I was City I'd tell him we want him to stay & sign an improved contract extension.
BUT if he STILL wants to leave for Barça next summer, he needs to sort out any potential move early, & if a suitable offer doesn't materialise by a given deadline, then he must publicly commit to City & get his head down so we can all get back to business.
The whole will he/won't he bollocks with Bernardo soured what should have been a crucial transition transfer window.
