It’s a really difficult one. He’s a world class attacking mid, with top defensive stats, who can play across the front 3 and midfield, is never injured, never kicks off, and is consistently top 3 players in the team for the past 5 years.

I’d say Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as a CM who has top attacking numbers but can also defend, and Nkunku as a roaming CAM who also plays across the wings. There’s not really a like-for-like replacement for Bernardo.
 
How can they afford him, I get they want 100m for the Dutch lad but that shouldn't be enough for Bernardo

Agree with this. The quoted €80m (or £69m) for a key player in the best team in the world with 3 years left on his contract is a joke, we would be lucky if we got someone half as good to replace him for that amount. In fact, its so ridiculous I think we can safely assume its false.
 
At least 100m€ and being prepared to sign a quality replacement. Otherwise, he is staying.

He's not leaving. Stop believing barca propaganda.

They don't have the money to pay Greizeman and had to loan him back to Athletico.
They don't have the money to pay Couthinho.
They don't have the money to pay FDJ.
They don't have the money to pay Pique (he's deferred 40 mil of his salary).

They still haven't paid Coutinho's transfer fee in full.
They still haven't paid us 1st installment of Ferran's transfer fee.

They couldn't pay Maradona so he left after 1 year.
They couldn't pay Ronaldo so he left after 1 year.
The one time they paid Messi his fair market value they ended up in a financial mess and in tons of debt.

They are not a big financial club.

And Bernardo has 1 big contract left to sign in his career. Why should he take a pay cut? Jorge Mendes too will like to maximize on it too.

Any way you slice it.. Bernardo moving to Barca is very very unlikely. It's simple math!

To be honest.. probably the whole thing is cooked up by his agent (Jorge Mendes) into making City nervous and giving him a last of his career uber high extension with high salary, high agent fees.
