they are one of the few teams that actually might pay decent money for Bernardo? Especially with Mbappe wanting him as he seems to be in charge of PSG?
 
I wonder if he would consider a step back and go to Benfica. He’s often talked about wanting to go back to Portugal, it would just determine if he still wanted to play in one of the top leagues. We get Enzo in return plus additional money in exchange for Bernardo. I’d probably say Bernardo is still worth more than Enzo, but you have to consider both players ages.

Benfica don’t seem to budge on their €120m valuation. I think we’d be the ones putting some extra money on the table

Also true but the world cup and the market fucked things now? Its a chance to do a deal now that keeps any move for Bellingham for the summer? No chance Bernardo would go back to Benfica yet though but he is obviously not happy and i think pep sees it as well hence him being on the bench? If thats the case we should be being proactive and trying to reenergise the team for a big push in the second half of the season? Cancelo as well if he`s being a moody bastard around the place!
 
PSG would be a good move for him.

And for us, as it means we don’t have to piss about listening to Barca bleating on all summer about how they can only pay us £5m for the player, take it or leave it - whilst they happily sign a load of other bang average players for way above that price - only to up their bid to £20m (payments spread across the next 15 seasons) on deadline day with no time left for us to replace him.

A quick sale to PSG, then we all get to move on and plan for the future - sounds like the best solution all round.

I was thinking the very same yesterday. It's a bit of a stretch, but if Bernardo REALLY misses home, isn't Bernardo & £30m to Benfica, & Enzo to City a perfect solution all round?

Who knows what will happen as we seem to get this will he wont he leave scenario every summer, but I am starting to think similar to this.
 
I love Paris, as a tourist i don't tend to socialise in the shit areas anyway, funny that.

I think as well we normally wait till summer for this talk and he’s normally had an immense year. This season feels a little different and he’s maybe not quite as irreplaceable as he was.
 
It's either lifestyle or money, very few get the luxury of both, unless they are younger and Madrid or Barcelona have money to burn.

Bernie is getting to an age now where by going home to Benfica, he would certainly have the lifestyle and be closer to family.

He would also likely continue to play in the Champions League.

If he gave any indication he was up for it, we would help him do it tomorrow, especially if it included Fernandez and Benfica were realistic about respective valuations.

Even then, we would probably have to give Bernard a wedge to make up a loss in wages.

thats my thinking is that bernardo has earnt a shit load of money since being at city and if he wants to be close to family, end his career at benfica etc then he has to understand the financial side of things?

He's certainly not short of a few quid and his next move would be for at least four years, taking him up to 33, so he has to balance how long he wants to wait before going home and playing for Benfica again, as opposed to a deal somewhere else right now that still has to factor an outright transfer fee and improve his present City salary.

Only Paris likely to be able to do that. I would certainly opt for Lisbon at this stage of his life if Fernandez was in the equation.

Him, Rodri and Bellingham in the middle, I think we might be okay for a few years!!
