Bert Trautmann - R.I.P

Has anyone heard or read anything about when the funeral will be?

All I have seen is from the MEN, who say his ashes will be scattered in the sea by his house. If true, the sea up there is absolutely beautiful, glorious bluey/green and paradise looking.

I haven't heard when it will be though.

Very sad. Was my mum's hero, and she often tells me about the cup final when he broke his neck.
RIP

My late father, who watched City all his life from the 20's to the 90's, always, without hesitation, said Trautmann was the best player he ever watched.

I never saw Trautmann play, I missed him by 3 years, but he is written into the history of our club.

God bless you Bert.

Trautmann Foundation

In these days we are all mourning the loss of a fantastic sportsman and a great human, who inspired generations. We offer our sincere condolences to his family.

As Trautmann Foundation we will keep working to continue Berts legacy. Our website is under construction, so I wanted to point out to everybody interested, that we have just set up a facebook presence, where we will post information about our work, projects to come and other relevant news.

We would be grateful if you spread the word in the Blue Community by liking the page.

Thank you

When you hear great world class keepers like Bob Wilson, Gordon Banks and Peter Shilton saying Bert was the best keeper ever, it really does bring a tear to your eye, what a player, what a legend, he will never be forgotten.
Come on City, we have the Colin Bell Stand, its time for the Bert Trautmann Stand now, and in time for the first game against Newcastle, hope we do a minutes silence for the great man..

Applause would be more fitting. We mourn the man, but his achievements, courage and legacy should be applauded.

We were so lucky to have a man like him show us the best of the human. The fact he played for our club iseven luckier. He missed out on having the bridge at Wembley named after him, but an item or area at Wembley needs to be named after him.
