Best and worst comedy shows EVER

Worst ever, by a country mile, without question: Mrs Brown's Boys.

Best ever: Fawlty Towers. Yes it's old and we've seen them all 23 times, but at the time, it was the funniest thing ever seen on TV imo.

Yes and yes.

There isn’t a bad line in The Office. Every word is crafted brilliantly. It parodies the humdrum life so well and with killer lines to boot. And hasn’t aged a second.
The Les Dennis “Extras” was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
Miranda - dogshit.

This - having started work in an office in 88 it’s depiction of the typical characters you come across is timeless

Best - friends, no matter how many times you watch it its always always funny.

Worst - Mrs browns boys, nothing comes close to pure shitness. Mighty boosh is also dire.

Faulty towers was a masterpiece and it doesn't matter how many times you re-watched as they still made you grin.A close runner up was The League Of Gentleman.

There's quite a lot of dross out there but Are You Being Served was intensely disturbing with that Comedic prodigy Molly Sugdan rehashing her pussy joke until it eventually healed up.

Not surprising. Apparently it took a record number of takes, as Les Dennis and Ricky Gervais couldn't hold it together for more than 10 seconds.

Never thought it would be a sentence I'd utter but the scene where Keith Chegwin describes how he'd like to kill himself to Les Dennis and Barry from Eastenders is the funniest thing I've seen on TV.
/edit.....found it

Best = Only Fools and Horses

Worst = there are many but the fist that springs to mind is big bang theory. Utter fuckin' gash! Take away the canned laughter and it's no longer classed as a comedy show.

Best: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Day Today, Patridge, The Office

Worst: Mrs Brown’s Boys

Come fly with me always makes me smile, a great piss take of the fly on the wall documentary, "happy flighting".
The worst? Too many to name just one.

Best: Partridge (obviously), Royle family, Early Doors, The Office, Extras, Phoenix Nights, Only Fools...

Worst: The Inbetweeners, Mrs Brown's Boys, Miranda. Comedy for 12 year olds.

Just gonna post that virtually word for word.
In fact anything Molly Sugden was in!
Remember "That's my boy"
Fuck me that was cringeworthy back in the 80's.
Father Dear Father!....oh dear!

Some right shite....

As for the good stuff
Steptoe and son
Rising Damp...still funny

Cheers
Frazier

Early Doors.....vastly underrated.
League of Gentlemen...just superb.

Some good answers on this page. I loved Early Doors (sometimes catch it on Gold), and I have to put the embarrassingly unfunny Friends as the worst. One character comes in and says "Hi!" and the "audience" falls about. The other then says "Nice to see you!" and the audience collapses with laughter. Just so-called wisecracks, not essentially character-based like Fawlty or Dad's Army (although the endless repeats of the latter are a bit much now.
Also I turn off anything American featuring a big settee in the foreground where they sit and say rubbish.

Among modern comedies that overstayed their welcome like an uninvited party guest that got drunk and passed out on your couch, I’d say “Two Broke Girls” is way up there. Moronic.
