He's Gonna Step On You Again - covered by The Happy Mondays was an excellent cover
The original was launched in 1971 by Johhny Kongas is an all time genuine classic!

On a bit of a Nirvana trip this past couple of weeks, so I'll plump for these as my current faves:

Best:I Heard it Through the Grapevine-Marvin Gaye

Worst:Baby I Love Your Way/Freebird-Will to Power. Utter dross!

All Along the Watchtower by Hendrix is a genuine classic.

Zep's version of In My Time of Dying (an old gospel number) is awesome; including some of the greatest drumming you will ever hear.

Worst (by a country mile) - Teenage Kicks by Jedward

Best - Got a few really (in no particular order)...

Shadowplay - Killers
Roxy Music - Jealous Guy
She's Not There - Santana
Nirvana - The Man Who Sold the World
The Clash - Police and Thieves
UB40 - I Think its Going to Rain Today

I could go on...

I thought I'd never hear such blasphemy as Dollar's version of "I wanna hold your hand" ever again, but One fucking cnuty Direction's frothy Butlins murdering of both Teenage Kicks and One Way or Another was a war crime in a class of its own. I'd have built the gallows myself.......

On the flip side there's Twist and Shout (Beatles), Hard Rain's Gonna Fall (Roxy Music), All along the Watchtower (Hendrix), and as wild cards Good Thing Going (Sugar Minott) and I Don't Wanna Talk About It (Everything But The Girl)
