League Cup semi vs the rags under clueless. Probably because we went one down before winning it. Along with Chelsea this season for the same reason

Mancini was in charge for that game

I'm in the "family stand" and we out sung the South Stand again. It's going to take some beating the atmosphere last night.

Edited the title.

I think the Hamburg atmosphere was better in the early stages of the match but once we scored, last night's was better. The FA Cup derby second half was pretty special as well as we were chasing the game until the last minute.

But last night at the final whistle eclipsed anything I've ever seen at the Etihad.

Hamburg was better for me because there was less pressure and less nerves

Agree with this. The atmosphere was great last night, but there was a lot of tension, so rather than enjoy it, like the Hamburg game, it was one to endure.

I was in the south stand and there were a lot of quiet points in the match to be fair.

I thought the atmosphere before & after the match was the best i've ever seen it at the Etihad...

During the game there were 'quiet(ish)' spells but i would put this PURELY down the nerves.

The best thing i thought about the atmosphere was that when we sung, the WHOLE ground sung. Not just the south stand, the whole ground. Thats what it should be like..every game

Proud Blue last night. well done all.

Ive got to say the North Stand/Family Stand have been pretty impressive in recent weeks in lifting the crowd.

For me, the best Etihad atmosphere ever - and I was at both the Hamburg game and the CC semi 1st leg against the rags

first, almost everybody had reached their seats before the kick off - the noise when the teams came out, the poznan when the rags team was announced, the noise, the hostility, the 'blue moon' before the kick off - all top class

then during the game there was pretty much constant noise - usually there are fairly long periods without a great deal of noise - not last night.

then there was the roof coming off when Vinnie scored. I think we all knew how important the first goal was. Then half time came and it was fantastic

there were the choruses of 'invisible man' and 'blue moon' - and the hey jude at the final whistle was incredible. I have been to internationals at Twickenham and Wembley, I was at the final in May, and I have watched games here and in Europe - last night. Hey Jude was the loudest thing I have ever heard in a sports ground ever. In fact, it was probably the loudest thing I have ever heard that wasn't electronically amplified.

Two other things - first, this was the biggest league game certainly since that feller in the 70s suit painted the penalty spot on the pitch at Derby and possibly since Newcastle in '68. Second, 650 million people were watching. And the crowd responded absolutely magnificently. We were part of the team effort last night.

That is why, for me, last night was the best atmosphere I have ever experienced at the Etihad. But it can be even better against QPR...

It's interesting that Hamburg was £5 (£1 for Kids) yet last night was largely attended by Seasoncard holders. There's not much in it for me but I think the importance of last night made the atmosphere more tense. Let's face it, moving back up to 1st in the Premiership is better than getting through to the Semi-Finals of the lesser European Competition.
