Best car you have ever owned

An automatic silver Golf, used to be owned by Lady (insert name here) from Hong Kong, even had a red outline on the reg plates.

Unfortunately, twice in a month I was back ended at roundabouts while stationary and being an old car it was written off.

Not difficult seeing as I’ve only had 2 cars!!
My first was a 2015 Citroen C4 Cactus, very quirky, with large air bumps on the doors ( great for car parks) very fuel efficient 1200cc engine cheap to run.
My current one is a Haval H6 Hev (sorry but it was that blue or wait another month)
It’s about the size of a RAV4 , slightly longer, has 243HP, heated / cooled seats, self parking, 360’ cameras huge boot, very fuel efficient, panoramic sunroof, huge leg room in the back & it’s very torqey! it even has launch control, ( not that I’ve used it yet)
Definitely the best car I’ve owned.

I can't get on that site it's blocked me.
Yes they can be expensive which is why when I saw one at a decent price I was wary.
The elegance of it got me straight away
I did a load of Internet checks which set alarm bells ringing but couldn't get it out of my head so......
I drove over to Yorkshire to have a look.
Everything said no but I'm still pissed off that I can't have it. :-(

It was one of the first cars to do 100mph and in its day rivalled Rolls Royce. It's downfall was it was hand built so production line manufacturing meant they couldn't compete.

There are a couple on Car and Classic Auctions

2013 Audi A6 Avant diesel. I had it for 10 years a brilliant car. 180k mls. No issues. Great cabin full of proper knobs. None of this complicated distracting touch screen crap you find in every car these days.

Cheers, I've seen (online) all the Alvis cars currently for sale. Red Triangle are out, way out of my price range. I have given the second one some thought and will rethink it.
I am wary of the 2nd one, is it a dealer etc. But thanks for looking.

Always wondered how much it costs to insure a Ferrari
You'd be surprised. Granted it was 20 years ago when I had the 308 but it was only about 300 quid. Sold it to get a 348 which wasn't much more to insure. I ended up with 2 348's and to insure both was just over 500 quid. The reasoning was that I could only drive one at a time. That was about 10 years ago.

1994. A Pug 205 1.9 GTi. I thought I was the dogs bollocks in that car. Looking back, it was a death trap.

In contrast, my current and trusty Qashqai is what I regard as the best I’ve owned. No frills about it, just a solid car that is comfy to drive and reliable.

Vauxhall Cresta ,six cylinder ,three gear column change ,with bench front seat.
Add to that my quiff,Italian pin stripe suit and winkle pickers, I was the bizz ,still don't understand why all the girls had to wash their hair every night.

I don't think that look worked in 2020 :-)
