Best chip shops in Manchester

The Golden Apple on Moston lane certainly serves the best portion of chips in the area and I defy anyone to eat a large portion of chips from there as even an ordinary one would feed a family of 4 with enough left for the bird table.

This ^^^^^^
Was going to post it but was beaten to it. Yes it's Chinese run, but who cares. The portion of chips is of American proportions ;)
You can spot a good chippy a mile off because of the queues. Every other chippy in Moston you walk in walk out served straight away - the Golden Apple you wait. And it's worth waiting for......
Not had a bag of chips / cheese and onion pie and curry sauce since September 15th..... really miss them :(

Not near me, but still in Middleton; The Langley Friery. Won chippy of the year in Manchester not so long ago, cracking chippy!

English Chippy's are over-rated.... We presume because theres a white person serving us that they will make English food better.... WRONG!

Most (if not all) chipshops around my neck of the woods are disgusting, the worst is the one that's white owned....

It's actually easier to score good quality drugs than it is to buy a good fish & Chips in Bury.

Used to be the Wooden Spoon on Ashton bus station, home made meat pie and puddings, tremendous.
Good shout for the Waterloo chippy De Niro, first port of call when I'm back there.

I can't wait for English/White people to open English curry houses in response to the Chinese chippies and other kind of chippies.

Chinese gravy used to be nice but it's lost it's je ne sais quoi.

though i'd agree the standard of chips in general have gone down over the years...do they use a different fat or oil?

Aye, the health and safety restrictions introduced during the early 90's meant that they could no longer jizz into it.

So the missing ingredient is wrist action ?
