I can't wait for English/White people to open English curry houses in response to the Chinese chippies and other kind of chippies.

Chinese gravy used to be nice but it's lost it's je ne sais quoi.

though i'd agree the standard of chips in general have gone down over the years...do they use a different fat or oil?

Was working in Coventry a couple of weeks ago and went to the chinese with my mate, it was run by Either Indians or Pakistani's which i thought strange(had no problem with that at all) but they didn't serve pork ribs, only Lamb, best ribs iv'e ever tasted, but the main was shite! LOL

Not near me, but still in Middleton; The Langley Friery. Won chippy of the year in Manchester not so long ago, cracking chippy!

The Langley Friery on Wood Street! I used to eat from there quite regularly and my Grandad still does. I'm sure he'd have let me know had the chips reduced in quality.

Blimey that takes me back. It was at its best when it was a corner shop rather than part of the bus station. The home made pies were fantastic.

Best chippy I've been to in the last few years has been Grandma Pollards in Toddy. Bit if a trek if you fancy some while round town tho'.
