Right guys!!!URGENT HLEP NEEDED!!!
I have been living at the top of Rushome in uni accommodation for about 3 months now and the amount of take outs is great, but and this is a big but, there are not proper fish and chipp shops. This is where i need help, where is the best fish and chip shop in realistic distance from top of Rushome/Vitoria park. It needs to be a proper chippy to not one that serves donor kebabs/burgers/curries/pizzas.

Thanks a lot for the help, it is greatly needed.

There's one on Yew Tree Rd between Horton Rd and Thornton Rd, between the Platt Lane training ground and Maine Rd (R.I.P.). Can't remember what it's called but it's a Chinese, they do pretty decent curry and chips. The Chinese food ain't bad either.

Probably doesn't help you much but i've got to say one of the best chippys in the region is Whittakers in Urmston. It won best chippy in the Uk last year:

You can queue for almost an hour on Fridays, that's how good it is.

Also, Fish Hut on Liverpool Rd in town is good. An oasis in the chippy desert that is Manchester City Centre.

Ah the 'Chippy with no name' still go in it if we're passing through.

Missed a few kick offs because I was waiting to get my pie.

The sign of a good chippy - when the curry sauce and gravy tastes the same because they don't change the ladel (sp)

Around Rusholme the only one I knew of was Rusholme Chippy but obviously doesnt sell sausgaes or anything with pork.

Theres one called Jacks Chippy here but it closes at 6 or 7, only been once.
