Best Christmas gift thread

6 months ago I found out that I had a Granddaughter aged 17 that I knew nothing about, as my eldest son (34) had somehow forgotten to tell me he had a result from a week long relationship. I have another son (30) and 3 daughters who still live with us aged 22, 20 and 18. My granddaughter came up to stay with us for a couple of days over the weekend and to spend time with her and to see how well she got on with my own Daughters has put a real spring in my step this Christmas. I feel very blessed.

My brother has DS making him pretty vulnerable to all manner of things. On Saturday night he was in hospital with pneumonia that was moving towards sepsis. Thanks to the good folk at New Cross hospital in Wolverhampton he's just finished his Christmas meal in the comfort of his/our own home. Hospital was rammed to the gunnels and overwhelmed with infection but you wouldn't have known it from the behaviour of the staff who were nothing but lovely.
I am recovering fom sepsis , i had a nasty gum infection that the antibiotics didnt completely clear , next thing i know i collapsed in a heap , 111 wanted to send an ambulance but i got in a taxi and got there quicker , i was booked in so they were expecting me , say the s word and all the staff spring into action, i was mobbed, i was confused and couldnt stand , no bp recordable and puking up , heart racing like mad , feeling cold

If anyone gets ill like that and have just had or have an active infection then get help quickly

I am so glad your brother is doing well @threespires

Seriously my favourite present was a lovely trundle in Heaton Park for an hour and half with Mrs Disco and the pooch, started off a bit grey but just cleared into a great sky blue, A nice reminisce of the year and home for a few drinks just about to have our Christmas dinner with the Elvis Christmas album on. Don’t need much in life now but a city win tomorrow would be a proper celebration.

We need a worst Christmas present ever thread going because I just opened a present from my niece who by the way knows very little about football and to my horror, I saw red and black pajamas and I just knew…..Tbf to her she was mortified when she found out as was I. Oh well I made sure I washed my hands afterwards.

Thanks Kaz and best wishes for your continued recovery, it's scary stuff and it moves so quickly. As you say, once they suspect it there's no messing about, they throw everything at you so your advice is spot on.
