Either Morrissey in Llandudno a couple of years ago (tiny venue) or Lou Reed doing 'Berlin' at the Apollo last year. Simply breathtaking.
Also mentions to The Fall at Jilly's Rockworld and Toots & The Maytals at Manchester Academy 2.

but for sheer "these are going to be a huge group" it would have to be the smiths 1st ever gig at the hacienda....
on a par with stone roses @ spike island for me
i remember sitting on top of a little hill with about 20 mates, all off our tits...watching scuffles break out between scousers and mancs

I have two best concerts...
1. Bruce Springsteen back in 1985 at Ullevi in Gothenburg... that was just awesome... 3 hours of total rocking... so much that the ground started to crack... they had to close the ground down after that concert due to cracks in the foundation...
2. Is Sting in Paris 1999 on his best of Sting/Police tour... just incredible concert...
edit best jazz concert was Diana Krall in Paris 1998...

Guns n Roses at the M.E.N. Arena was the craziest gig I've ever been to.
Michael Jackson at Leeds Roundhay Park in 1988 was mindblowing.
All three Flaming Lips gigs at the Apollo were great. Here's my vids from them,

Pink Floyd in 94 and Frank Sinatra in 89 or 90. Both fantastic for different reasons.
R.E.M. at Lancs CC in 2005. I waited 4 hours to be on the front row. After the gig I found out the Metrolink wasn't running towards Eccles, It took me a further 3 hours to walk home.
Robyn Hitchcock and the Venus 3 @ Aademy 3. My guitar hero Peter Buck played in this band, not only was it an awesome gig, I got to meet Buck after the gig, had a chat with him and got a signed copy of the record.
Morrissey @ GMEX Chistmas 2006. Went to this straight after we played Bolton at home. I think we lost 0-2. Amazing gig.
I Am Kloot @ Roadhouse. This was cool becuase it was a gig at 8am in the morning... part of the Carling 24 hour music thing a few years ago. It was wierd walking out of the roadhouse pissed up with my mates and it being 11am, and people were just coming into town to do their Saturday shoping.
