You really can't argue that Johnny Cash's last couple of albums were the work of genius, and Hurt is unforgettable.

I don't think women get that song... it's a song that sons understand about their fathers.

Hendrix... All along the watchtower... Todd Rundgren... I'm So Proud...

My other fave would be Jamie Cullum's version of Radiohead's High and Dry.

Definately Johnnys version of Hurt for me.............plus it would have been his birthday today.........Top bloke.

Could not put it better son, song that sons understand about their fathers, and your right women don't get it.

My ex's who knew my dad, said its about drugs, I answered no its not, not the way he sings it.
I played it at my dads funeral.
Maybe a lot didn't get it, but I did and thats all that mattered.

Tainted Love? Brilliant
Watchtower? Awesome
My Way Vicious? Funny at the time, sad afterwards, dreadful now

A forgotten one Slade Get down and get wiv it. Made a song their own, youtube it
To a much lesser extent I Love Rock n Roll Joan Jett, destroyed and DILUTED now, by some truly awful covers of Joan Jett's version.

PLEASE ABSORB FOLLOWING

For those who dont know, Joan Jett covered the song, it was a "B SIDE" for those who remember Vinyl. Of a single by a truly shite band called the Arrows.

Other than that?
Walk on by? Stranglers Burnels bass still rumbles

Classical Gas-Tommy Emmanuel
