Makalel was quick strong and physically impassable, he read the game brilliantly and initiated attacks very quickly. (He could also carry the ball).

Thats the thing that annoys me though defensive midfielders ?there just in fashion at the moment whats wrong with letting defenders get on with defending and have midfielders who can do everything like they used to look at gerrard, scholes, essien they can defend and attack thats the whole point of a midfielder defend a bit attack abit there the link dejong can only do one half of this and get thats wrong often too by not staying on his feet

Nigel De Jong is the best defensive midfielder in the world, Absolute class act and will prove it against Chelsea on Saturday, Best game ive probably seen him play in a City shirt was against Chelsea last season at home he dominated the midfield.

De Jong should be one of the first names on the sheet. He is the best DM in the world and the Chelsea game will be right up his street. Gives the back 4 so much protection, gets stuck in never gives you a spare moment on the ball and when he wins it, does the simple thing and gives it to another blue shirt. That is what you want from a DM, no frills, does his job and does it superbly.

Top player and one of those players you know cares about the club, always praising the club and fans. You only have to see his reaction when we scored against Wigan, straight over to Yaya and the fans.
