BEST FANS IN THE WORLD

On a Training Course darn sarf and couldn't get back in time so watched it on the box.
There will be a lot of this sort of thing mid-week.

The old days are gone. It is not a cheap game to follow any more. Far from it. Many people put a significant chumk of their earnings into following City and for some the price of a ST is as much as they can justify. Plus all the additional costs.

I wish the ground were full but unless the club rewards its loyal fans with free early round cup games then these matches will never fill the ground.

My arse, only 26000 fans last night for a uefa cup game that was still in the balance, plenty of noise from those of us who did bother to turn up but how can we expect the team to get fired up for the game when they see so many empty seats. It was only £15 in advance and £20 on the night so where were the rest of you last night, sat watching it on ITV4 no doubt and i bet when and if we reach the semi final and i pray the final you will all come out of the woodwork demanding your tickets for the games.

Personally, I was assessing the damage to my finances following my trip to Copenhagen pal. Similarly, assessing the damage following City from afar, on a weekly basis.

So, how does fcuk off sound?

Prick.

I was at the game last night it was a poor turn out for a last 32 in the uefa cup, but on the other hand people is losing there jobs and finding it hard to pay for 3 games in a week!

I don't think letting seasoncard holders in for free would add more than maybe 2-3K max. If people don't want to go for whatever reason that's grand, but I think the club should give a big points incentive and measure cup games attended incase we get to a final / semi.

That way is fair to both, as I think people will be pi**ed if they went to all the games at home including the Barnsley shambles BUT someone else gets a final ticket who didn't sit through the guff like I watched at Oakwell...

I didn't go last night because I was at the Metallica gig and it still cost me £50 because I paid for the wife to take the 2 kids and pay her parking fee.

Fuck I must be a twat of a fan for not going myself.

I think some of you are missing a pretty serious situaton that we are all in,RECESSION!!!!

I was at the mecca last night as i can afford it,but I have 5 mates that simply can't afford the addition costs above a season ticket.

The vast majority of city fans that i know are all working class family guys and to spend even £15 above the price of a season ticket is damning to there finances, thats life and we all cope in different ways but not everyone has the money and city are definately not there priority...................... remember not everyone is the same.

To have a good hardcore of loyal fans suits me than to have 3 muppets to take my place if i dont turn up like the swamp

Personally for such an important game I think 26 k is pretty poor .

30k plus at Spuds and they knew they were not going through and would play a reserve team .

No despite everyone on here protesting etc etc , we have started to believe in our own hype about being the best fans in the land it 's a myth .

I am fucking sick of immature pricks coming on here and preaching about "best Fans in the land - my arse", every other week.

It doesn't matter, grow up. 26K turned up, big deal. I don't blame anyone for not going when they can watch it on the telly for free. Why does it matter, unless you are some kiddie who is arsed what your Man United mates say?

Clubs don't get massive gates for Cup games, until close to the final. Every club is the same, more or less. Some do better, some do worse. City have been in the latter category for years now.

Fucking live with it and stop letting it upset you. And stop pontificating about loyalty.

And Yes, I went.

Hear Hear,

I went to Portsmouth and Copenhagen last week, but didn't make it last night, I moved to London at the start of Jan knowing that I would struggle with some midweek games, I run a depot and would struggle to leave in time to get upto the game plus the 350 mile round trip isn't something I exactly look forward too.

People need to realise that we aren;t going to get full houses at these type of games not yet anyhow. Were hopefully at the start of something big and eventually will sell out in most games if we bring success to the club.

This isn't gonna happen overnight and were a good few years away from doing it, biggest Uefa cup attendance this season, a step in the right direction.

P.S. Pontificating..... word of the day Dave good work!

People are not having a go at people in your situation, Its the good part of 10,000 who would rather watch it on the telly than get to the ground and support the team they're supposed to love.
