It has to be Anfield 89. Friday night wasn't it due to fixture backlog after Hillsborough? What an evening. I was only 14 but a standout moment.

First thing that came to mind! The pictures were dazzlingly colorful and the ticker tape that went along with their games made it seem otherworldly! “Kempes!” :-)

Second was England demolishing Germany while scoring 5. In a pub in Austin TX on a layover having full English breakfast and the place was stuffed to the gills and getting more mental with every goal!

Watching my Dad play at Altrincham when I was a kid. It was where I acquired my love of the game.

As a kid, watching Brazil v Italy (on TV obviously) in the 1982 world cup.

So many of mine have been mentioned. I don’t think anyone has mentioned Bobby Stokes of Soton scoring the winner (from an offside position?) in the FA cup final to down the rags and make me £25 better off.

Denis Bailey. Lovely bloke. Really decent person who was a very good player. Career probably didn’t pan out the way it should have but still did well.

Is he still the last player to score a hat Trick at old Trafford.
