Best former Blues as Managers

Bill Leivers......(although before my time) and if I'm not mistaken the only player still living from the 56 cup winning team

Not sure if this has been posted as a topic before. But who do we think are the former City players who have made their mark in management.

I’ll start off with the obvious (unless you’re a Rag) Matt Busby played 204 times for City and went on to have a successful spell with that lot.

Also worth considering our own Les McDowell and Wilf Wild, Peter Reid And less auspiciously Stuart Pearce, seem to also recall John Benson (shudders) played for us as well.

More recently Uwe Rosler had a decent stint in charge of a number of clubs but no trophies, Michel Vonk was doing ok at one stage as was Ivan Golac.

Maybe now Patrick Viera will impress or less likely Joey Barton!?

Any more worth a shout, or feel to expand on some of the ones I’ve mentioned.

EDIT.

Bloody hell forgot Tony Book! sorry Skip
Joey Barton shouldn’t be anywhere near a pub let alone City, he’s a complete fuckin tool on a very good day ..

I think Viera will be a top manager in the future and who knows, maybe at City one day ?

Almost exactly 28 years to the day he scored a cup hat trick for us, Kare Ingebrigsten... Winner of 3 Norwegian league titles and there cups with Rosenborg.

The rest of his management career outside of a few golden years isn't so impressive, but an interesting one nonetheless.

my cousin made his debut for Blackpool in the early 2000's when Steve McMahon was manager and when McMahon left he was replaced by Colin Hendry , later in his career he played for Doncaster whilst Dickov was manager.
