Best former Blues as Managers

Dave Connor and George Heslop managed Bury on an FA Cup run to the 5th Round , losing at Anfield, but couldn’t avoid relegation at the end of the season (1980)

Not quite the actual 'gaffer' himself, but Trevor Sinclair was assistant manager to Darren Peacock (him with all the hair) at Lancaster City for a brief time a few years back. Think the pairing was a bit 'underwhelming' (and don't think either have tried their hand at football management since?)

Jack Reynolds, so good he’s got a boardroom named after him at Ajax’s ground and at their old stadium had a stand named after him.
Wow, kudos to you sir!
I've just googled him to see who he was. To think that he was a pioneer of Total Football and how that has come full circle back to City via Pep, Ajax and Cruyff is amazing.
I'm proper chuffed with finding that out....City, the real home of Total Football!

The blonde bombshell David Oldfield was asst to Hasselbaink at Burton and QPR but is now manager on his own at non league Oxford City.

Major Frank Buckley, born in Urmston, played for City from 1907-08 (and before that for United).

He managed many clubs over a 36 year career, including Norwich City, Blackpool, Wolves (1927-44), Notts County, Hull City, Leeds United (1948-53) and Walsall. While his clubs had little success while he managed them, he certainly laid the foundations for the successful post-war Blackpool and Wolves teams and maybe indirectly for the Don Revie era Leeds United.

Found this very interesting in today's column in the telegraph -about pep's possible successor

Another City old boy, Vincent Kompany, is also doing well at Anderlecht, although the former captain did not have the warmest of relationships with City’s formidable chief executive, Ferran Soriano.

No one has mentioned the great Peter Doherty, who managed Northern Ireland 1951-62 and took them to the World Cup finals in Sweden in 1958.

Club managers? Busby & Revie (even though I hated the clubs they managed).

A great manager for Ajax winning multiple titles. Although he was on our books,I don't think he played any senior games for us.

Alan Oaks often doesn't get mentioned regardless of the subject. God knows why not. CTID
Yes, strange that. He was not spectacular but incredibly strong and reliable. Had a hard shot, though not always on target! Hardly ever missed a game. Gaz Baz of his day. Top player.
