Best gangster flick of all time?

Millers crossing deserves a mention too. Possibly the cohen bros best work

Once Upon a Time in America was a true film classic. The story, the acting and the music made it a film that really stayed with me.

After that it has to be Godfather 2 and Goodfellas.

White heat - James Cagney.....'top of the world ma'

Good call, I'm a big fan of Jimmy Cagney - Public Enemy, Angels with Dirty Faces are superb too

Swales, when my late mother was a young un in the 30's Cagney was her film idol. She wrote a letter to him and it was addressed 'James Cagney, hollywood, california, usa' Several weeks later she got a reply from him with a signed picture of him and his dog. Though the dog didn't sign it! She thought the sun shone out of his and Pat O'briens jacksy.

Once upon a time in America.

The final scene when the man himself Bobby de Niro takes a drag from an opium pipe and just forgets everything. Just hears the phone ringing for a few more seconds.
