Massimo Taibi a close second.
In recent years, I'd say Buffon and Schmeichel. Buffon is a phenominal shot stopper who's done it at every level, including a major contribution to the 2006 World Cup success.
Schmeichel won it all too, including a Euro Champ with Denmark and was still pretty good when he played for us!
