Im 28, and I used to beat up people who liked there music when I was a kid. How wrong and what a twat I was. When I watch the live stuff from there heyday it just amazes me. (when i say beat up , was more like they beat me up);) How times change.

just been watching some of there videos now while here on my nightshift :)

Jimmy Page during his "Outrider" solo tour in 1988 at an indoor venue in Birmingham. I swear Page worked himself into a trance completely oblivious to everything around him and did his guitar thing whilst simultaneously chainsmoking and dribbling an endless stream of saliva down his front and onto the stage floor. He never moved from that spot in 2 hours leaving a small lake beneath him. His performance was hypnotic, superb.

Disturbing but memorable.

I saw Zeppelin in 1979 at Knebworth but this was better in a way, more intense minus the showiness of Plant.

Devo, the 52s, the Mondays were top and David Byrne Stand out for me although probably to many to mention.

For hair-standing excitement... The Jam

For breathtaking showmanship... Pink Floyd

For intensity and emotion... The Blue Nile

I have seen many, many live bands in my time, but I would have say seeing them twice now for me LCD Soundsystem are the best live band I have seen...

Springsteen, Roundhay Park, Leeds - '85

Used to be a 'lively' atmosphere at Simple Minds gigs too back in the day.

Most of the bans lose it as they get on a bit, but I was amazed & surprised by how good Deacon Blue were when I saw them years back. Reo Speedwagon as well.
