Best Live Bands?

Where do I start? Perhaps, forgive me, at the Swamp as I’ve just been to see The Rolling Stones there and you will never see a band that can put up a better set list or close out a show the way they do. Even in their 70’s they are still one of the best live acts on the planet.

A few people have mentioned Bruce and he and the E Street Band fall into the same catagory.

Of, what I consider the younger bands, the Foo Fighters are a top live band and I look forward to seeing them later this month.

The best gigs I’ve ever been to have been Kiss and Van Halen.

Other great live acts over the years have been:
Led Zep
Queen
The Who
Tom Petty
Blue Oyster Cult
The Tubes
Rush
Rainbow
Motley Crue
Fleetwood Mac
The Eagles
U2
Oasis
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Pink Floyd
UFO

Just been to see the Stones. Not a massive fan, probably not big enough to shorten their names to the Stones anyway. They were alright, nothing to write home about.

saw the stones about 20 years ago and they were average at best(btw their aircraft with the sticky fingers logo is at the airport)
muse have been the best live band I've seen followed closely by u2

Best gigs as a teenager/ early twenties:

Slade
Nazareth
Rainbow
Clash
Buzzcocks

More recent years:

Springsteen, a few times
Glen Tilbrook (at the Witchwood, amazing in a small venue)
Oasis (MEN) 95/6?

Saw the Stones in 95 (I think) at Meadowhall on their "farewell" tour. They were brilliant

Back in the day, Rory Gallagher at the Apollo was fabulous

Hall and Oats at the Apollo. Teriffic

OMD were very very good

I've seen Simple Minds three times, Maine Road, GMex and lastly at Delamere park which was an absolutely superb gig, especially when you could just walk up to the stage and get so close whilst they were playing

Kasabian last November at the Arena. Fantastic

Am I allowed to mention Gary Glitter on those Christmas tours he did! He was shite, but who cared
On one he was supported by the Village People, who were great just for the novelty value
