Totally disagree The Smiths were one of the iconic bands of the eighties, have this reputation of being miserable but had some cracking songs with classic riffs how any one can say this charming man is miserable is beyond me. Please, please, please is one of the most beautiful haunting songs of that era, so much so was used on several films.

i think why so many do not like morrissey is his choice of how he portrays life in his song titles and use of wordings( on the face of it negatively)
