Best Mancunian players who have played for City

Kiddo born Collyhurst I think. Played for us as well as them and had just a little bit to do with 13th March last year

Am I being Rick Thick or did something significant happen on 13th March that I'm unfamiliar with.

Was it the day that Kiddo put a tenner on us to win the league?

I had to do some Googling because I was convinced I was just having a moment but it was in the middle of the defeat at Swansea and a Europa League match. Either way, Kidd knew something I didn't...

Good thread this, but saddens me at the same time. I think the days of us signing the best talent from Denton, Worsley, Collyhurst or wherever are well behind us.

I'm sure someone told me once that when Celtic won the European Cup in 1967, the entire team had been born within 20 miles of the ground. The chances of that ever happening again are zilch

Also, if you think about our championship team of 1968 they were all English. Won't see that again.

I'm sure someone told me once that when Celtic won the European Cup in 1967, the entire team had been born within 20 miles of the ground. The chances of that ever happening again are zilch

Also, if you think about our championship team of 1968 they were all English. Won't see that again.

I think Clive Wilson must have been the most local player as he lived just off
LLoyd Street / Gt. Western Street.
I know Neil Young lived near as he went to Heald Place School but not sure where.

Jive was probably the nearest, along with Jason and Darren Beckford, all original Jamaican [Moss Side born] boys from Da' Moss.

We used to play Heald Green at U11s on the school playing with Maine Road's floodlights as the backdrop.
