38,000 premium bonds......£650 return this year so far, plus the chance of the biggy.

Not sure if they make absolute sense but the missus and I have the max holding each and (touch wood) we’re up to about £1000 this year so far .. friends of ours won £25k before Christmas

Im sure i read that on average , the returns on premium bonds are pretty naff

just less than 2% on average now which in the recent past hasn't been too bad plus there's always the chance of something a lot bigger....it's the suspense you know !!

Bought two shoe repair machines, 2 key cutting machines and a Singer patching machine for 4k about 15 years ago. All still going strong and making me money every day. Spent around £400 in maintenance.

Not a bad return on my original spend.

A fake £20 note, was very relieved to get rid of it. Oxfam needs to get one of those note checkers, suckers.

I too bought some hairclippers. I paid £25 for them about 15 years ago. I shave my head at the start of every month saving about £7 each time if averaged out over 15 years. So (7x12x15)-25 = a saving of £1235 which I’ve used by pissing it up the wall.
