Best penalty taken ever in a Blue shirt??

I think Edghill's penalty is being slightly overrated. An inch further back and he would've blazed it over the bar. What's the reason for rating this so highly, yet not mentioning Barton's against Arsenal, which was pretty much identical?
Cooke's was far better, beautifully placed, unsaveable.

With regard to penalty takers, Anelka and Elano were both 100% successful, and I can only ever recall Horlock missing 1 against Blackburn in 99/00.

Edghill's penalty at Wembley was the coolest penalty I've ever seen in my life.

Think about it:
1. Never scored in his career.
2. Hardly rated by the majority of his own fans.
3. Boyhood club.
4. At Wembley in a play-off final.
5. Pressure!

Best penalty I've seen.

There's almost a time stood still moment after that pen. A milisecond of quiet after the ball hit the back of the net....untill the realisation that it made it, kicked in, and the crowd went mad.

I really liked Ched Evans penalty v Midgetland. Infront of their own fans, boo's from everywhere, the pressure of a shootout, yet he just chipped it right into the top corner.

In my mind, I remember Mark Ward always seemed to score his penalties, and they all went in off the post. I'm sure I remember an interview where he said he practised hitting them in off the inside of the post as that was where the keeper had no chance.

It was Samaras taking penalties that always terrified me.

On the other side, you always felt you had a chance when Eric Nixon and David James faced them. But not Perry Suckling....
