Best player from our doldrums years (1980 to roughly 2009)

Paul walsh was a great little player but I think it would have to be Trevor Francis closely followed by Kinky & Bernarbia.

My top 20 (chronological order):

Paul Power: 1975-1986

David White: 1986-1993
Paul Lake: 1986-1996
Niall Quinn: 1990-1996
Tony Coton: 1990-1996
Uwe Rösler: 1994-1998
Georgi Kinkladze: 1995-1998
Paul Dickov: 1996-2002, 2006-2008
Shaun Goater: 1998-2003
Shaun Wright-Phillips: 1999-2005, 2008-2011
Richard Dunne: 2000-2009
Ali Benarbia: 2001-2003
Eyal Berkovic: 2001-2004
Nicolas Anelka: 2002-2005
Sylvain Distin: 2002-2007
Stephen Ireland: 2005-2010
Elano: 2007-2009

Special mentions: Trevor Francis, Keith Curle, Paul Walsh, Andy Morrison and Martin Petrov

Francis
Lake
Distin
Anelka

Were the cream of some decent players.i think all four would have a shout of being in the current squad. A Francis -Erling -Anelka front line would score goals for fun in this team.

Late shout out to Mark Ward who I thought was a decent footballer.
