I always thought Keith Curle and Colin Hendry would have made a superb partnership. Hendry competing for the first ball, jumping into headers, bullying centre forwards while Curle used his pace to sweep up behind any flick ons. Alas Peter Reid had other ideas.

SWP seemed to accurately sum us as a club.
He was fearless and was tough as old boots.
Although I think we signed him as a 14/15 year old (from Forest ?), he seemed to really love the club.
He would get kicked to feck (remember the Trafford Tramps taking it in turns, so as not to get booked), but always bounced back up.
Also liked Paul Simpson and Michael Hughes, both youth players who were sold well under their true value...

A mate of mine went to see a comedy gig.
He saw Richard Dunne carrying 6 pints to his seat, my mate then saw Dunne drink all 6.
The day after was game day, apparently Dunne had a decent game.
 
Benarbia, Wright-Phillips, Anelka, Zabaleta, Kompany they're the stand outs for me....also Elano on his day inconsistent but he was magic at times.

I listened to the podcast with Jonny Marr over the weekend (with neville, carragher, kean, ian wright wtc).

Utterly brilliant interview by the way

anyway, at the end the mics are left on and they are all just chatting and marr says to wright that he loved SWP. Wright replied that shaun loved city and never wanted to leave, he was heart broken going to chelsea but knew he had to and did it cos he loved the club so much

Great shout about Michael Hughes. The start to the 1991/92 season was absolutely epic. 1-0 win at Coventry (Keith Curle debut) after not keeping a clean sheet away the previous year, Unforgettable win against Liverpool on the Weds night (one of my favourite all time matches) with David White’s, ‘Geoff Hurst’ moment. Andy Hills late header, late on, to put us top against Forest and then a few weeks later Michael Hughes (on his full debut) missing the penalty at the death to salvage a point against Everton. Full range of emotions.,
