Best shops for Vinyl records

Physical shop:

Picadilly Records: Goes without saying but great shop all around. Reliable for online pre-order deliveries
New Mills Book shop: tons of 2nd hand records, can spend hours in there.
Vinyl Planet in Macclesfield: great 2nd hand collection and very reasonable
Tasty Records in Alty: great selection and v. reasonably priced.

Online:

Sound of Vinyl: have some cool exclusives, signed albums etc and offers on throughout the year.
Norman Records: good service, fast despatch at a reasonable cost.
HMV: Free delivery above £20, no payment needs to be made when pre-ordering, payment taken on dispatch. Can be a shit service though, lost a few things in the post. Also they are a big corporation.
Record store.co.uk probably most reasonable in terms of cost
Townsend music is good for signed goods but usual records are expensive.
Ebay

I know in the lockdown we had a thread on vinyl overtaking cd sales, but what recomendations across the country and overseas do people have for vinyl?

For me the following record shops are top notch

Norman records
Piccadilly Records
Wax and Beans
Vinyl Exchange
X records
Resident
Loafers
Jumbo
Crash

And if you are looking for older vinyl either in need of replacing or that you missed out on then try

www.vinylnet.co.uk

Just recieved these from them which I had originally but lost in many moves, seen them before but quite pricey , got all 3 for £15 all in

Any other recomendations
My old man collected records all his life, He has a brilliant selection, The last few months he has been buying them on Ebay. He's got some really good ones for good value.

I find it very hard to buy reasonably priced vinyl anymore as most of it is so overpriced. Get the odd bargain from charity shops but I guess most people simply don't want to give their vinyl away. Townsend I find are okay online as are banquet records in Surrey. I still love trawling through the old school second hand shops far more than the newer trendier ones who all seem to sell the same stock.

I buy a lot from second hand shops when they are open, we plan our weekend trips away so there's at least a shop nearby, but I also don't mind new stuff or re-releases.

Prices are higher than they were 5 years ago for 2 reasons, demand, more people collecting again, and greed!

Plus people are more clued up on prices.
