I shall answer with a question: what is a monologue if it isn't a speech?

Monologue would be telling a long story that doesn't necessary have a point whereas a speech generally has a point or a goal to it

I could class Red in shawshank redemeption as a speech, because he is trying to get parolled wheres as the scene in jaws is story, a bit of history
