Anyone ever been in the Three Stags Head inn on the A623 in Debyshire.
Its like going back in time 250 yrs,
open range fire , where the the landlady still cooks on,
flagged floors,
toilets where you piss against a tiled wall
no draught lager, just real ales and bottled Belgian beers
no crisps, nuts ect only home cooked food, soups , rabbit stew.
A bloke at the bar with a dog (in this case 2 lurchers )

if anyone is thinking of going...dont...its shit!
its a shit pub in the middle of nowhere,you cant move coz its tiny and some yokel numpty with no teeth (that stinks),has got 2 dogs (that stink)sprawled all over the floor of this already tiny space.
it sells shit tasting bitter on draught (no lager),so you look for a bottle and find it also serves even shitter tasting bitter,in bottles (no lager).
the landlord stares at you...continuously.as does the landlady,only with a wry smile.
there are plenty of decent pubs on this road,so stop at one of them instead.
oh,and the landlady doesnt like being hit with a mop,no matter what you were only doing with it!

The cross keys in Uppermill is pretty decent.
Quality food just a bit of a trek.

The Church uppermill is superb. ale brewed on site, peacocks roaming about, great food and a fit landlady. takes a bit of finding but well worth it. The hill leading to it is murderous on a bike!

went there a couple of weeks ago, it was excellent. Had a mixed grill and a couple of pints of their own micro-brewed ale, a quality place. I also like The Top Brink in Todmorden for good food and ale.

I'm on the real ale trail on the 16th June on a stag do, looking forward to that
