Better than when your kids were born?

Different, not better.

One generates an overwhelming desire to protect, and nurture, and provide for. It generates overwhelming, overpowering unconditional love, the feeling that here is something you will sacrifice everything for. The feeling that in the future when you are gone there is a mark that has been left behind, the feeling that there has been real meaning and purpose to your existence. It is the desire to watch something that would be helpless without you grow before your eyes into something strong and capable of withstanding all that life can throw at it. Something you will be proud of forever.

The other is just your kids being born.

Saw it coming a mile off but still laughed

No comparison, not even on the same planet.

Your kids being born are the greatest day a person can have in their entire life.

When you are lying on your death bed, much as Sunday was truly amazing, it won't be the last thing you think of.

Agree but they are totally different experiences. My wife had twins by Caesarean, five weeks premature at four in the morning in an operating theatre surrounded by ten medical staff (and me) who quickly whipped both girls off to Special Care. A very different experience to being in the Etihad when Kun fired home.

That sums it up perfectly for me.

I'd like to say the kids' births were better, but if I consider the facts ...

... when my kids were born, I wasn't leaping around like a demented loony screaming "Yess ! Yessss !!! Championes, Championes !!" for 20 minutes.

There also weren't 47,000 people in the maternity ward leaping around with me.

I hope no one says yes. seriously we do love our football, but you love your kids more.

I never said I loved football more than my kids and no one who has had agreed with me has said it either.

Kompany was right when he said "I need to say the politically correct thing here" or words to that effect when he said it was on a par with marriage and birth of kids.

Marriaqe- Lets face it this is a day for women.

Kids - I found it harrowing from start to finish. Being a father and seeing your kids grow up is far more pleasurable. The birth bit is exhausting.

Sunday - Best moment (period of time) I have ever experienced. Will never be bettered.
