big screen stupidity

Anyone remember the half time entertainment at Everton a couple of years ago?

Some fat lad had to kick a football onto the cross bar from about 30 yerds out... he had to get 2 out of the 3 attempts to win a car.

Got the first two slap bang on the woodwork and the stadium erupted!

That's what we need!

Either that or public executions of people who have pissed us off on Bluemoon.

We could do a vote every Friday night...

Yes, he won an Audi A8. Even i cheered when he got it.

Best half time entertainment I ever remember was PReston Away in the second division season, game finished 1-1.

A fan of each club had to set off on the whistle from the centre spot , both running opposite directions, and the first to score won.

The crowd were roaring them on.

It was a bit like that at Notts County a couple of weeks ago when the two clubs' Under 8 teams played a five-a-side game.

More passion and encouragement for that 15 minutes than there was for the proper game!

Do that every week.

We might even get the odd bit of entertainment chucked in to relieve the boredom...

;-))

Agree with the OP, also couldn't believe it when they announced the Fulham team and put it on the screen....No3 Paul Konchesky......wtf, he left for Liverpool in the summer and now plays for Nottingham Forest. Mind you i wish he had of played!

I like Alistair Mann but i don't want to barely hear his thoughts on the game at half time, nor do i want that annoying idiots Hugh Ferris waffling on about any mundane shite.

Why can't we just have music, first half highlights, scores and few announcements of birthdays, anniversaries ect.

I think when Fanzone Danny see's this though he may be a little bit gutted but i don't think one person on here is blaming him, i actually think he had done very well since he started and i actually listen to what he says.

I'm just awaiting the next cringeworthy come on down style prize winner that will coincidently be picked in the family stand whilst people look like idiots wearing paper glasses.

danny is excellent at presenting, but we dont want to motivate the opposition, and we did that last year v spurs to my mind.

Coincidentally picked from the lower tier of the Family Stand also ensuring no time is wasted in waiting for the "randomly picked winner" to appear on the pitch!!

What was I doing in East Level 3 wearing those stupid things?

All you need is Jo got an airing during that game ;-)

I think appointing Danny has been quality - I do find the other guy more cringeworthy however, this isn't because of who he may support it's because he doesn't provide that matchday experience... he just reminds me of why I actually came to the game - because I dislike watching football on the tv with those caked makeup white teeth smiley smile tv presenters.
This ain't GMTV - it's a footy match.

Fanzone Danny all the way, sack the other guy.

I have no problem with the website video repeats as not everyone will of seen the videos.

as for improving atmosphere - the main problem isn't because stone roses have been played rather than the doves..... it's because a big chunk of seats seperate the main singing sections in our stadium...
as others have said in previous topics - the club should move the away fans into the East Stand level 1 - 111.... and move the singers who frequent this area into where the away fans currently are and join them up with the south stand singers - creating one big singing section.

once this has been put in place, 3 designated choreographers should be introduced.
one on the left, central, and on the right.
They will do what the Poznan/Aris choreographers did and get songs/clapping going, maybe have drums and megaphones aswell.

Fuuuuuuck off with that idea. The day we get a fucking drummer is the day I start bringing a blade to games to puncture the thing. We either want to sing or don't, I don't want us to be like fucking Pompey or Notlob fans

Also I don't get why people just can't grasp that in a circular ground the singers will always be either side of the away fans. You will never ever be able to 'join them up'

The things at PNE and Notts County sound ace and so simple to put together. You don't need overpaid titheads announcing or big screen technology.

There are two things key to half-time entertainment. The youth of the participants or the overweightness of the participants

that got me too, absolutely pathetic, it's like when they go to the tunnel and that grey haired guy reads out the teams and can't say half the names, disrespectful or what, it's the amateurish levels I'd expect off Sky Sports 2bh.
