Big Target Man - Centre Forward

The Carew rumours are worrying, for me he is the kind of player who would have been our star signing in years gone by, only to limp to scoring 5 goals in the season, then get sold off/loaned out with disappointment all round.

Crouch is a much better player than he gets credit for.

If Sturridge leaves he will probably go to Villa and we will get Carew as part of the deal.

I hope not! and i doubt that will happen anyway!
1, Sturridge isnt good enough for a top 6 Prem team and 2, as effective as Carew is he is too slow, old and not quite the quality i think City will be buying in! I really predict a very good eye opening, eyebrow raising striker and the same in the centre of defence coming to us this summer! Maybe not Eto'o (37 goals this season) but there will be someone of quality!

Maybe you will all think i'm daft but would Kenwyne Jones not be an ideal option as a physical center forward?? At a decent price also???

Sunderland turned down a £20M bid for him in Jan from spurs

personally I don't think I would pay that much for him

Sunderland have just had the main shareholder take full control and there rumors of a £200M warchest for the next manager so I'm guessing that they won't be selling if the new guy likes him

Between that and the Portsmouth news I'm starting to get wary. Will we be battling it out with these other new mega-rich clubs for the big names? I am aware that City have a nice history and all, but I know nothing of Sunderland or Portsmouth. How much do there names have? (I do realize that Sunderlands name is pretty much garbage, I'm mainly asking about Portsmouth).

To add to this post I say Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, and Carlos Tevez. Get all 3 of them

There is no need yet to worry about Sunderland or Pompey. They might have plenty of cash, but if you think its hard trying to get players to come to City, its monumentally hard trying to get them to go to Sunderland or Pompey. Sunderland need basically a new squad and will have to settle for mid table to start with, and while Pompey will try very hard to get big names in, they are a long way behind in terms of facilities. One look at those facilities at Fratton park will be more then enough to turn off any even reasonably well known players.

I'd love to have Aguero, but with Atletico in the Champions league next season I'd doubt he would go anywhere. Who knows what will happen with the ugly one from OT, and I don't know a lot about Dzeko, but a lot of people rate him very highly.

Best target forward that would fit perfectly in you're team is Amauri (juve player). I can't think of another attacker out there (with the exception of drogba, torres) that fit the bill perfectly....

No chance of Torres .... Drogba could well be a possiblity
