Must be mainly younger Blues on this thread so far given no mention at all for Steve Daley.

Decent player, actually, but totally overwhelmed by the British record fee we paid for him so was desperately ordinary for us. It's the equivalent of paying £30 million plus today and he'd never even got an England cap when we signed him. Pure madness.

I don't know about that, a certain Mr McManaman was absolutely shite in virtually every game he played for us particularly given the reputation he had at the time we signed him.
