At the time, City v Schalke 04 in the semi final of the ECWC in 1970. Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, City won 5-1 at Maine Road to reach the final of a European competition for the first time. This followed the debacle the previous season against Fenerbahce, when we knocked out of the European Cup in the first round.
City won the final 2-1 against Gornik Zabrze in Vienna in appalling conditions to become European champions.
I remember a "do" in the social club shortly after, where I was pictured holding both the League Cup and the European Cup Winners Cup trophies.
