Biggest Summer in history?

Hey TCIB! Thanks for the welcome. I am new to the forum. Very glad I discovered bluemoon as I am an American (don't hold it against me) where 50% of the football population support United/Chelsea, and 49% support Barca/Madrid. Do not know another single City fan.

I see your (and others) points about Robben and have considered them myself. He is a premadona, injury prone, and inconsistent (he'll fit right in). I also agree with whoever said he's a one trick pony (the cut in around the 18 and strike the ball as hard as he possibly can with no regard for accuracy). As Sean Wright Phillips Sr. (as I like to call him) just said while commentating the Bayern v Barca match on American TV, Robben seems to pick out the wrong pass too often as well and is somewhat selfish. With all that being said, I still would love for City to sign him, if for no other reason that I don't want Chelsea or Man U to have him.

Also thank you to Ric for posting the link to the Robben thread. I will make all further comments on him in that thread.

***wanted to make one thing clear, I know how it looks for an American to be new to the forum. I know it looks like I'm probably a bandwagon fairweather fan, but I wanted to let everyone know that I have been supporting City since attending an Oasis concert on September 29, 2005 (one hell of a night). Have only missed a small handful of City matches since. Thanks for making me feel welcome.

-- Wed May 01, 2013 2:49 pm --

BTW, right when i clicked submit on that last message Robben showed his brillance and put it in the net. Game over.

Think the league has been lacking in quality for a lot of teams this year. Would expect a lot of teams want to strengthen, but there's only so many players for sale. Would be quite amusing to see Liverpool do some more panic buying.

Liverpool only need to really eradicate their defence, they have scored 67 goals this season; the third best in the league behind United who have scored 79, and Chelsea who have scored 68.

You have to take into consideration that Sturridge who has scored a fair few in 2013 was not signed up with them until January.

However, they have conceeded 42 goals, a figure which is clearly the reason why they are where they are, and not forgetting inconsistency! Then again, apart from United, who hasn't been inconsistent.

A better defence and Suarez staying and they could be top 4 again.

If Liverpool have some consistency next year they can surely challenge Arsenal or Spurs for 4th in my opinion. However, consistency is not something so easily achievable :P

What do you guys think about Isco should we sign him

Very good player but if signed at the expense of a pacey winger which we so desperately need, then I would not be too happy about it.

so who would be a better fit for our team? and in what order if your first choice is not available:

1. Reus
2. Isco
3. Bale
4. Lamela
5. Sanchez

for me it would be : Reus, Bale, Sanchez, Lamela, and then Isco.

Certainly one of the most important....

Agreed, and if Jose goes back to Chelsea, it will be a real tussle next season imo.
The most interesting thing for me is what man united do in the summer. Who can they sign that will be at a reasonable price and improve the squad that neither us nor Chelsea could out price them out of. Gonna be an interesting summer for them to say the least
