Birmingham City Thread - 2023/24 | Rooney sacked after 15 games

I never understand clubs that pick these types of manager, His coaching career is poor so the board or owner have not hired him for that, so why? Are they hoping to make money off it ? Are they hoping some of that so called scum magic has rubbed off on him and they can get some tarnished reflective glory from that ? He brings nothing to Birmingham City that is any use to the club bettering themselves in the future, infact it tells you everything you need to know about Birmingham's owners and their football knowledge and ambition.
Gary Cook hired him. You would think he would k ow better.

Great players rarely make great managers.

People are claiming Bobby Charlton was the greatest player England has ever produced. A tad of an exaggeration, I think. But Charlton's managerial career was short and notably unsuccessful.

Great managers seem to have an 'X factor'. They were often average players at best.

P.R. That's about it. If people go just along out of curiosity to see the bloated freak then more tickets sold. The downside is of course that not only is Shrek extraordinarily dim but he's also not very good at the job he's supposed to be doing - ie, managing.
I think they will wait until after Xmas before they boot the biddy fiddler out, then someone like Fat Sam will waltz in in a blaze of glory and save the day for the Brummies.

1st ever Birmingham manager to lose his opening 3 games so creating history already :)-

I think Tom Finney and Stanley Mathews would have something to say about that, also our very own Peter Doherty.
