Ok, I watch a lot of American TV, so can one of our American posters please tell me what these biscuits are? When I do see them, they look like scones. Also, when they say "biscuits and gravy", is it the kind of gravy us Brits would recognise as gravy, or is it something else?

Always appears to be a Southern thing, but I may be wrong.

Nah, it's sausage fat mixed with flour and milk, not gravy at all.

I believe it is a kind of savoury scone and that awful looking "gravy" is butter, milk, pepper and sausage meat/fat. Almost as bad as sweet foods on the same plate as bacon and eggs. America has a lot of cool stuff but for a country that ribs us for our food by christ they could take a look in the mirror. Grits for example, it sounds as shit as it tastes.

Oh my life, that doesn't sound good!

Correct. Tried a biscuit when I was in the USA last November. Won’t be bothering again. Corn bread on the other hand....yum yum.
